Volokh Conspiracy: Saturdays with Stendhal

It’s good to see my favorite author is still making the rounds at The Volokh Conspiracy. The incomparable French novelist and psychologist used to dream of his future readers, the Happy Few, writing things like, “I shall only be read in 1880 or 1900” in his letters and journals. If only he’d known! May there always be a Happy Few.
