Victor David Hanson has an intelligent discussion of Palin here.

http://victorhanson.com/articles/hanson070809.html

Especially interesting is his take on why she provokes all the venom.

(It all pretty much comes down to snobbery) - and Hanson pulls no punches.

"While we rightly argue that the Sarahs of the world, if they are to be taken seriously as leaders, must read and study more, why do we not also suggest that the Baracks of the world could do a little more chain-sawing, run a coffee shop for a summer, or drive a Winnebago cross-country? (Who knows, he might meet a fellow woodcutter who knew there were 50 states or that it was dumb to make fun of the Special Olympics.)

After all, a lot of geniuses are now calling for a “second stimulus” to borrow another trillion or so still, but I don’t think they come from Wasilla."

"She seems to me a rather commonplace person trying to react to very unnatural, unusual, and, of course, hostile circumstances"

And Harry Truman was............?

Ok, ok, trick question.

"I rather suspect it will go on much longer than necessary, as good “bad guys” are hard to find."

True and it deflect attention away from the current ruling administration and their faults. It isn't like fading, dull comedians will be making rape jokes about her adolescent daughter...oh, wait.

PS- Glad you have your own blog and best of luck. I will definitely stop by and read your posts when I can.
